Borrowing and visiting

"Everyone is welcome..."

How to use the collection
Anyone from British Columbia can use the collection at Literacy BC. Requests for materials or research assistance can be made via phone, fax, email, or through the catalogue. Generally we mail resources to you for a five-week loan period. However you may also come in person to browse the collection. Just be sure you make an appointment so staff can be available to help you. In certain cases, items can be sent to other provinces, upon request

It is also possible to place requests for items through a public library’s interlibrary loan system.

You pay no costs for books
Borrowing resources from the Resource Centre is simpler and cost-effective. Literacy BC uses Canada Post’s Book Rate, which greatly reduces mailing costs. With the Book Rate, you do not have to pay for the cost of delivery or returning books by mail. When you return books , use the return label provided with your package. The post office recognizes this label and exempts you from postage. All instructions are included with your books or here.

For more information on the Resource Centre call Literacy BC toll-free in BC at 1-888-READ-234, outside of BC phone (604) 684-0624. Or you can email us at library@literacy.bc.ca
