The Movement for.Canadian Literacy Moves Toward Change
The Movement for Canadian Literacy (MCL) has hired a new interim Executive Director to help guide the national literacy organization through a period of change.
J. Craig McNaughton has 19 years of extensive professional experience. His appointment is effective from November 18, 1996 to May 31, 1997.
During the past year MCL has examined its role in an effort to become a stronger, more relevant organization. Recently, the MCL Board accepted a new strategic direction and plan. The plan includes: stronger ties to the provincial and territorial literacy organizations; a new and smaller Board; a very focused work plan; and strong learner leadership and support.
Susan Sussman, President of MCL, says, "We are thrilled to be moving forward with a new and talented Executive Director who will help steer MCL through this critical transition period."
