The deadline for applications: May 31, 2007.

The Paul Gallagher Access Fund

The Access Fund is named in memory of former Literacy BC President, Paul Gallagher. The Fund provides community-based learning centres with financial resources to assist adult students with emergency needs. Bus fare, daycare, clothing, gas money or other costs that would make a difference between attending and not attending a literacy/ABE program are covered by the fund.

Priority is given to community based learning centres that demonstrate the greatest need for assistance related to adult literacy/ABE student access issues. A minimum of four awards of $500-$1000 will be granted.

This year’s deadline for applications is May 4. Funds are disbursed in August.

The PACE Bursary Fund

The PACE fund provides financial assistance to part-time adult learners, who must be BC residents, 19 years of age or older, with a demonstrated financial need, and attending a registered public or private post secondary educational institution. The deadline for PACE applications is September 30, 2007.
