Tis the Season for Giving Our Thanks…

Literacy BC would like to take this opportunity to say a very grateful thank you to the many organizations and individuals who made donations and supported our organization this year.

Your generous support allows us to do many things – including provide financial assistance to adults going back to school. We offer bursaries for adult learners studying part time and provide community-based learning centres with financial resources to assist adult students with emergency needs such as bus fare and daycare.

In the words of two successful funding applicants, your support makes a big difference:

“I am working part time just making enough to pay for my rent, and hardly have any money left for the high cost of post-secondary education. I want to do something worthwhile with my life... continuing with my education after high school is a must. I owe it to myself to accomplish all that I can. I will be forever grateful for your assistance.”

“The Community Access funding enabled 22 students to pay for a number of emergency needs including groceries, bus fare, clothes, basic school supplies and indispensable household items. Most of these students would have found it impossible to attend our adult literacy classes without the support of Literacy BC.”
