Upcoming Awards and Deadlines:

The Paul Gallagher Fund Deadline for applications: April 29, 2006
Details and Application Form

The Access Fund is named in memory of former Literacy BC President, Paul Gallagher. The Fund provides community-based learning centres with financial resources to assist adult students with emergency needs. Bus fare, daycare, clothing, gas money or other costs that would make a difference between attending and not attending a literacy/ABE program are covered by the fund.

Priority is given to community based learning centres that demonstrate the greatest need for assistance related to adult literacy/ABE student access issues.

The PACE Bursary Fund

Deadline for applications: September 30, 2006

The PACE Bursary Fund provides financial assistance to part-time adult learners. The fund is for BC residents, 19 years of age or older, who have a demonstrated financial need, and are attending a registered public or private post secondary educational institution.

The Co-operators 2006 Provincial Learner Achievement Award

Deadline: TBA (Spring)

The Co-operators, a national insurance company, proudly sponsors the 2006 Provincial Learner Achievement Award. This award recognizes the outstanding achievements of an adult learner in BC. Although the 2006 applications deadline has not yet been set, it is expected to be late May. Details will be posted on our website and in our Calendar of Events.

The BC Family Literacy Fund (Raise-a-Reader)

Deadline: TBA (April)
Application packages will be distributed to existing family literacy programs in late April.

The 16th Annual PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy

Date: July 11, 2006
Founded by Peter Gzowski, and hosted by Peter Mansbridge, the PGI raises valuable funds for literacy activities in BC.
